Happy National Garden Month – get out your trowels!

April 7, 2009 at 3:50 pm

It’s National Garden Month. Oh joy! Not as meaningful to those of us who are trying to keep our potted terrace plants from burning to death, but for those diggers of dirt on the ground, a festive time of year. (Props to best friend in Orlando with her very cool backyard box garden. The arugula was delicious!)

We just came out with a gorgeous homage to the gardening set, Ultimate Gardener, and I intend on posting snippets from the book including the photos of foliage that really turned out well.

The author of the book is Charlie Nardozzi who’s claim to fame is that he’s the senior horticulturist at the National Gardening Association. Talented storytellers and photographers contributed the rest.

This is just a sneak peek and I promise to show off some of the great interior art in subsequent posts.

In the meantime, celebrate National Garden Month. Buy your earth mother pals and green thumbed buds a book. How cool will they think you are for remembering this obscure holiday!

Gotta go. It’s tea time at the Ok corral.

Ta!

About this Blog
I started this blog to create a "salon" type atmosphere where aspiring and seasoned authors, book lovers and lovers of the creative process can convene. My contribution is a mix of what's going on at my day job at HCI Books and beyond. And, beyond, in my imagination casts a pretty wide net.Creative posts are welcome but must fit in to the prevailing theme. (Say "book" a couple of times in your post, at least!) I'm PR Director at HCI for 14 years, consulting on the side, blogging, and studying operatic singing. I'm mother to Tito, Kiwi, Rashi and Mochi, three tweety birds and one puddy cat, respectively. I live high up over the beautiful intracoastal waterway and Atlantic ocean and I love snapping scenic photos on my iphone. I love the beach, and would be happy just pitching a tent there (with air conditioning). Welcome.
