Hannah Friedman meets Judy Blume – in real life, in concert, in NY, this weekend

Hannah Friedman, author of the wildly popular teen memoir Everything Sucks: Losing My Mind and Finding Myself in a High School Quest for Cool, will appear as part of a star-studded lineup of celebrities and literary luminaries at the 35th Anniversary Celebration of the National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC).

A Night of Comedy with Judy Blume & Friends” will also feature actresses Whoopi Goldberg, Mary-Louise Parker, and Rachel Dratch, television ersonality Joan Rivers, comedian Paul Mooney, Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Junot Díaz, and Lizz Winstead, the former head writer of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

Ms. Friedman will perform an original comedy song in the style of her highly acclaimed YouTube comedy videos, which have attracted a loyal viewing audience in the hundreds of thousands.

Ms. Friedman is the winner of the 2008 New York Television Festival and the 2007 Yale Playwrights Festival, and she is one of the youngest authors ever to be published in Newsweek Magazine. She starred in and co-directed Flying Solo, a reality show on Lifetime that chronicled the process of writing her debut memoir.
