Proposal review with one page critique

- $300 (up to 20 pages)

In order for you to get the attention of any publisher, you first must present them with a show-stopping proposal. This means that you are being given just one opportunity to make a convincing first impression that shows the publisher that your book project is worthwhile. This is the point where you actually are "selling" your book by making a case for WHY the publisher should add your book to their list. This includes everything you want them to know about your book, your plans to promote your book, how you will market it, why your book will make the publisher money, and do your best to show them that they would be foolish not to publish it! Instead of the mindset, "what can the publisher do for you," think, "what can I do for the publisher." We will help shape your proposal so that your chances of being taken seriously by a publisher and even considered will be increased. Always make sure that the publisher is convinced that you have a well honed platform!!

We understand that your manuscript is the result of your blood, sweat and tears, but because you are the author and you are so close to it, it's very important to get both an objective and educated opinion of the content. Is the writing good? Do the chapters flow? Is the book divided into chapters most effectively? Is there a clear beginning, middle and end to your book? We will look at a portion of your manuscript or the entire one and give you that objective yet educated feedback that you will need before taking your book to the highly competitive publishing marketplace. Our experience as insiders in the publishing business equip us with good resources for helpful direction when it comes to your book's content.

If not, we can offer tips and suggestions that will increase the possibilities for you in the publishing arena. Let us help you make that important first impression (that you only get to have one time!)

Manuscript editing and proofreading

It should be your goal to attract the attention of who's ever in the position of acquiring manuscripts(s)at the publishing houses you are approaching. And, what you present should attract them by what you have written not by grammatical errors and other mistakes. Remember everything we've said about first impressions - don't make what's wrong with your future book its most memorable feature! The same goes for what you present to a literary agent. Possibly, your manuscript will need other kinds of editing like working on the book's structure or perhaps re-organizing its content This process, "developmental editing" goes beyond what the typical copyediting process involves. The finishing touch you might consider in your process is to include a professional proofreader. We can't stress enough how important it is to present your work in the best possible condition. Please consider us to help you make the necessary assessments and arrangements for the editing and proofreading part of your publishing journey.
